Ready to race? Bring your soap box derby car on race day, and register at the track.
Please arrive by 2:00pm to check in.
There is no entrance fee.
We have rules in place to ensure the safety of racers and spectators, and to make sure everyone is treated fairly. Please read through them carefully and reach out if you have any questions.
Registration begins at 2:00 pm. Please show up on time so you can be ready to race at 3:00.
You will be checked in and given a number that will be used to keep track of your times.
The 2026 race will be held Saturday, September 5th, 2026

We're passionate about racing and want to share that passion with others. Our annual event is a soap box derby that takes place in Payson, Utah. We provide blueprints and design specs for racers to build their own gravity fed cars and compete in our race. We've been organizing these events since 2003 and always strive to make it a fun experience for everyone involved.
Race Divisions
Competitors are divided into three divisions. Ages are not fixed, but are rough guidelines.
Colt
8-13 year olds
Up to 275 lbs with car and driver
Mustang
13-17 year olds
Up to 340 lbs with car and driver
Bronco
18 and older
Up to 400 lbs with car and driver
One car may be run by multiple drivers in multiple divisions provided it meets the weight requirements for each division in which it is competing.
